From turmoil to a new dawn…
Did it start stormily for you? Do you arrive into the New year somewhat battered by physical, mental, emotional or stress-related storms? Are you feeling bloated by too much eating/drinking? Did last year end badly regarding work, or with personal or financial problems? Life can make you feel really down at times. You are not alone. Many people feel like this from time to time. The key thing is to firstly acknowledge what has happened. Feel the pain. Listen to your body. Take deep breaths. Accept that things were bad. But, these things do not define you.
Write down how you feel now, today. Then, put the paper away and wrap up and go for a walk. Take lots of long, slow deep breaths. Look around you at the scenery. Watch the clouds race by. Listen to the birdsong. Feel the wind in your hair. When you come back, write down how you feel now. Repeat as above for as often as you can for the next 2 weeks. Try to get out for a walk most days, building up, 15 minutes today, 20 tomorrow, until you can comfortably do 40 minutes of fairly brisk walking. No special clothes needed, just good walking shoes.
Now, make a list of what you would truly like to do. Do you want to change jobs, change career, move house, take up study, start a business, begin (or end) a relationship, take up painting, singing, walking, or cooking?
By writing down your goals you can really SEE them. This gives you time to analyse them. Is this really what I want to do? Why? With what purpose?
Career and Life Coaching will also help you with these big questions. So, do not put things off. Start by writing down how you feel, then what you want to DO, and let’s begin creating a bright new dawn!
